I’m a very lucky guy. I get to earn a living doing exactly what I want to do -- helping people learn more about homebuilding, home improvements, power tools and outdoor power equipment. I’ve been doing this since 1988, but I don’t just write, I also build. I’m a union carpenter and my wife and our four kids live in a stone and timber home we designed and built on our 90-acre farm on Manitoulin Island. Living way out here gives me lots of space to keep busy working with wood, stone, metal and the many other kinds of building materials I write about.
